Tell us about yourself: I’m an ex journalist living in London.
Tell us about your latest book: I write a series about a London cop, Inspector John Carlyle. Sins of the Fathers is #8 in the series. It looks at 5 different father-daughter relationships and how far you can go to protect your child.
When did you start writing? This series? about 2007.
Where do you write? Wherever I can.
Which other authors do you admire? There are so many! William McIlvanney, Donna Leon, Camilleri, Mankell, Michael Dibdin, Philip Kerr, James Lee Burke, Lawrence Block, Robert Crais to name but a few.
Book you wished you’d written? Bonfire of the Vanities
Greatest fictional criminal: My mind’s gone blank! I’ll plug my own Dominic Silver, cop turned drug dealer turned art gallery owner. A very engaging guy, even though I say so myself. I wanted to give Dom his own series but that was a step too far for the publisher. Then again, most things are.

Are you ever disturbed by your own imagination? Not as long as I keep my mouth shut and stay away from email and social media
